"Diary of The Secret Places" is an ongoing project, which began during the conceptualization of the first exhibition. Each of us have been collecting photographs of places we have been at, a kind of photographic 'So and So Were Here' (but instead of leaving a mark, we take a picture of the spot and take it with us). For us, those pictures were like illustrations of 'stories' and 'adventures' in our lives. Then we thought about our friends, who write blogs, columns, poetries, and lyrics. We thought of sharing our 'Secret Places' to them, to illustrate their writings.
We then started a blog (www.thesecretagents.multiply.com. R.I.P) where we posted our 'Secret Places' photos, and invited people to share their writings there or grab pictures to compliment writings on their blogs. People started to send writings that were based on some of our photos, and also take photos to illustrate writings on their blogs!
The results of this project, the printed out blog posts plus the complimentary 'Secret Places' photos, were shown in the "THE DIARY OF THE SECRET PLACES... AND THE SECRET AGENTS" exhibition.
We also exhibited our first batch of "The Secret Places" photo series in two photo books, which gave the feeling of going through someone's diaries when looking at the photos page by page.
This was also the first time "The Map" installation was displayed to interact with the audience. We asked people to show spots on the map, where they experience emotions like love, anger, scared, happy, etc (each indicated by different colored stickers). The result was very melancholic; a map of memories, times, and feelings.
Right after this exhibition ended, The Secret Agents started.
